The night before Dylan's two-week checkup, I weighed him on our bathroom scale. It turned out to be very close to what the doctor's scale said, so I've weighed him a couple more times since then - he's growing like a weed! Tonight he weighed 8 lbs 6 oz. (But the picture is from 10/25/09.) I can't believe how fast he's growing!

Pumpkin Patch
I took the kids to a local pumpkin patch yesterday afternoon, to take some pictures and pick out a pumpkin to carve. Before we arrived at the pumpkin patch, Lily said she wanted to pick out a big big big big BIG big pumpkin to take home. She also wanted to get a "Daddy Pumpkin." But as soon as we got there, she completely lost interest in the large pumpkins and only cared about the little bitty ones. How funny! She also really liked the scarecrows.
And this is how we knew it was time to leave - Lily started dropping hay on Dylan!
TV and Pumpkins
Lily and Dylan (and Lily's baby, of course!) were watching Sesame Street the other day, and Lily thoughtfully put the pumpkins on Dylan's blanket so he could look at them. I think these two are going to be great buddies! By the way, click on the picture to enlarge it, and check out Dylan's double chin! I love it!

Rubber Duck Race
We also watched pig races, climbed Hay Mountain, played in a fort and in Little Farmerville, and went through the corn maze. Can you believe that neither Dusty or I have ever been through a corn maze before? Oh, and of course we rode the hay ride to the pumpkin patch, too!
It was a really fun day, and everyone slept very soundly that night.

Fall Festival

We attended our annual MOMS Club Fall Festival this morning! It was a chilly 60 degrees outside (I am fully acclimated to Texas weather now - 60 is chilly! lol), which was perfect for a fall party. Food, games, pumpkin decorating, and lots of little kids in Halloween costumes - it was a great party!

This was the first time I put Dylan in this carrier. He's still a little bit small for it, so when it's all fastened the way it's supposed to be, he slides down inside so you can't even see his head. But then he's all snug and cozy, so he didn't mind at all. He slept through the whole party!

Lily is sooo excited about pumpkins this year! I want to make some pumpkin bars or bread or something with her, but baking anything that requires going to the grocery store is really a challenge for me right now. Maybe next week! Or maybe we'll wait until closer to Thanksgiving for pumpkin-flavored goodies. We'll see.
Dylan wore his Beary Cute outfit, with ears on the hood. That's as close as he could get to a costume and still be warm enough.
