More pool pictures from Thursday

Let's see, we arrived in Mexico on a Tuesday, and these pool pictures are from a couple days later, on Thursday.

Lily loves this picture of Joe.  She says, "Look, there's Joe with my floatie! Sooooo funny! Look, he's being a girl!"  Hahahahaha!  Apparently if a boy is using a pink princess floatie, to Lily that means the boy is "being a girl."  She cracks me up.  I think Lily and Joe were debating about whether he would fit in the floatie or not, so he decided to try it out.
And here's Dylan, chillin in the pool with Joe.  Dylan looks sleepy.

An old picture

I just came across this picture from September 24, 2010. It literally made me laugh out loud, so I thought I'd share.... this must have been around the beginning of when Lily started intentionally making silly faces when asked to smile for a picture. Silly girl.

Sleepy Lily

Lily had fallen asleep in the hotel room before dinner, but I couldn't let her sleep the whole night like that because she hadn't had nearly enough to eat.  So I got her back into her regular clothes and off we went to another restaurant at the resort (this one serving Mexican food).  You can see from her eyes how sleepy she is, and her poor little cheeks were flushed from the sun.  Not actually burned, this pink-cheeked look typically goes away by the next morning after she's been in the sun for awhile.  Even with tons of sunscreen, she gets this pink, rosy look.  Dylan on the other hand gets plain old hot and his whole face turns red like a ripe tomato - again, not sunburned, just really hot.  Don't get me wrong, they both burn extremely easily without sunscreen (remember Lily was a redheaded baby!), but we're pretty diligent about applying the sunscreen.  Dylan is not as sleepy as Lily in these pictures because he got a nap in the afternoon while Lily swam and played hard the whole time.

Dylan in Hotel Room

I can't remember exactly what he's so excited about, but these pictures make me smile.  Dylan and Lily both had such a great time during the whole vacation.

Upstairs Pool

What a great way to spend an afternoon... I took this picture at the pool upstairs at the top of the hotel.  When you walk through the hallway that runs along next to the pool, there are windows to see underwater right into the pool.  There's also a swim-up bar at this pool, and they serve sushi next to the pool for lunch.  Not that I'm a fan of sushi, but Dusty likes it.

Company Picnic

Meriplex celebrated its 10th birthday in grand fashion with a company-wide family picnic at Regal Ranch. I have lots of pictures from the whole afternoon when I eventually get to them in chronological order, but here are the two family photos that were taken right when we arrived. Lily doesn't often allow pigtails in her hair anymore, so these pictures seem extra cute to me! I told her that her piggy tails are getting really, really long! She replied that it's because her HAIR is getting really long. Smarty pants.

Dylan Eating Corn on the Cob

Don't mind the Ariel bib - Dylan can't help it that his older sibling is a girl! We actually didn't intend for Dylan to eat corn on the cob tonight. I cut the corn OFF of an entire ear for him and put it on his plate, while I gave Lily half an ear of corn ON the cob. Sitting down at the picnic table, Lily announced that she didn't want the corn on the cob because it was "too spicy" (no, I don't think she had even tasted it, and no of course the corn was not at all spicy). Dylan reached over and took the corn right off her plate and turned around like this to sit down and eat it! He ended up eating this whole thing and most of the second half. The second picture is funny - he has his little chipmunk cheeks full of corn, and he's so happy about it!
