Once in awhile, Lily asks to bake something with her Easy-Bake Oven. This time we had one of the Easy-Bake Cake mixes on hand, so she made a layered cake with frosting. She had fun and was very proud of her creation. However, the cake left a lot to be desired as far as actual taste was concerned! I think we'll stick with my own homemade cookie dough for the easy bake oven next time. The pictures are funny though - see Dylan trying to get his hands on Lily's cake.

Dylan's Swing Set
When Dylan opened his birthday present from Grandma and Grandpa, he didn't really know what it was. But when they got it all set up the next morning... THEN he knew what it was, and he loves it! Dylan's swing set that he got for a really early 2nd birthday present has been soooo much fun!

Birthdays with Grandpa and Grandma Corning
Grandma and Grandpa Corning came to visit in February, and we celebrated the kids' birthdays. Lily's fourth from January, and Dylan's second, coming up soon (well not really very soon but you'll see why!) in September. Cupcakes and ice cream!

Make-Believe Campfire
Gideon, Ande, and Lily built a make-believe campfire in the backyard, complete with benches for sitting around the fire.
Happy Valentine's Day!
Daddy took us out to Logan's Roadhouse for a special Valentine dinner, where Lily gave him the valentine she made for him. We had a really nice evening! I tried to take a picture of the kids together when we got home, but this is all I got, which is typical of anytime I try to take pictures of them together these days...

Dylan loves lollipops!
Dylan absolutely loves lollipops. He doesn't bite them off to eat the candy quickly and be done, he actually sucks the entire thing and asks for another when he's finished. He says, "Ba-pah!" Of course Ls are difficult for him to say at the beginning of the word, and he rarely finishes a word with the ending consonant, but we all very clearly understand that "ba-pah!" said in rapid succession means "may I please have a lollipop!?!?" ba-pah! ba-pah! ba-pah! It's so funny because Lily never really cared about lollipops that much. Sure, she likes them, but she often throws them away before finishing the whole thing. Dylan just really, really likes them. It's cute.
Lily's Valentine Party at School
Lily and her classmates had a really fun party for Valentine's Day! Each child got to hand out their valentines to everyone else, placing them into their goody bags that they had created earlier in the day. In the first picture, Lily and her friend are talking about the valentines; then Lily is handing out her valentines, and in the third picture Lily had run across the room to give her teacher, Ms. Rosie, a valentine. In the last picture, Lily is sitting with her partner from the puzzle game they played - each person had half a heart, and they had to find the classmate who had the other half that matched up with their own. And of course after the fun and games, there were plenty of sweet treats!
